Low frame rate on high end PC
Hi all, I just brought a new PC installed windows 7 on it, installed wow and thats about it. to get a good frame rate (60 out and about and 30 in stormwind) I had to put it on low graphics for everything, putting it on good results in 20fps when im questing, and 15 or so in stormwind.

the spec of my pc is
amd athlon ii x4 640 (3ghz quad core)
4 gig of ram
ATI Radeon HD 5450 (1gb)

I would of thought itd be able to handle WoW alright, but apparently not, I followed some forums and have my config.wtf set up as follows:

I have updated the ATI catalyst center software and my driver and also ran Leatrix Latency Fix 1.23

Under catalyst center I have the following:
anti aliasing set to 2x
anisotrpic filtering set as "per pixel samples"
catalyst a.i on standard
mipmap detail as performance
wait for vertical refresh as performance
anti aliasing mode as perofmrance

AMD over drive turned on set to 690MHZ gpu clock and 887 for high performance memory clock

none of which seem to have made a difference, does anyone have any suggestions how I can improve things as this doesnt seem right to me at all.

ThanksThats an old Graphics card to be honest. I wouldnt say high end. Pay ?15 more and you can get a GPU thats x3 as powerful. Just make sure that the control center has everything set to use application settings and vsync is off.Be carefull, ive had my computer "fixed" recently and i got it back with this fps problem. Make sure you explain fully what the problem is to anyone before you give it to them to fix.Solution: Buy an nvidia gpu, GTX470/480 Zotac with zalman heatpipe cooler.
You wont get pass 50 celcius ever again, wow at max settings with 80++ fps

Problem solved.
